    The Assistant Director General of Saudi Customs Affairs Saud bin Sulaiman Al-Fahad explained the keenness of Customs Department to end all customs procedures in the shortest possible period , despite the entry of more than one party in the customs process .. Unveiling a new procedures planned to facilitate the process. That took place during the workshop" Obstacles faced by business sector in customs procedures" organized by the chamber yesterday Tuesday 24,May 2011.

     
    Verifying that customs department is currently working on developing its systems in testing and inspection, including radiation testing systems being currently working on, and applying fingerprint system for cars.

     



    On the other hand, Director-General of Customs pursuant & Supervisor of Risk Management Unit in Customs Department Abdulmohsen Al-Shenaifi explained that of the main tasks of Customs is to protect consumers from fraud, counterfeiting and violation of intellectual property rights, as well as from high prices ..

    Chairman of Cars Committee at Asharqia Chamber Hani Al-Afaleq commented by saying  that there are obstacles still exist in the delivery of shipment  papers, and the times do not cover the large movement  on customs' gates.

    Nevertheless; Omar Hradn ,Director of Import & Shipping at Colgate-Palmolive -Olayan Group said that customs sector despite the great development yet it suffers from several obstacles mosty notably essentiality and the delay in exemption decision due to lack of data, and linking tariffs to insurance.

    For his part, Asharqia Chamber Assistant Secretary General Khaled Al-Otaibi commended on the existing cooperation between the Customs Department and the private sector, which resulted in this valuable workshop.
     
    At the end, The Chamber Board Member Abdullah Al-Majdoui expressed his thanks to the Assistant Director General of Customs of Saudi Customs Affairs Saud al-Fahad handing over a commemorative plaque as they honored speakers at the meeting.
